Summaries and Reviews
Amazon.com description: Product Description: Always witty and flamboyant, poet, critic and biographer Dame Edith Sitwell was a champion of literary modernity. As a younger poet she challenged formal conventionalism with her own verses, such as the satirical romp Faade (1922). Later, her poetry sternly turned to class issues before she fell from fashion in the 1930s. After the Second World War, Sitwell enjoyed renewed public acclaim until her death in 1964. Her works include Clowns Houses (1918), Gold Coast Customs (1929), The Song of the Cold (1948), Gardeners and Astronomers (1953), and The Outcasts (1962).
