This is a translation of both volumes of Nietzsche's Human, All Too Human. The first volume appeared in 1878, just before Nietzsche abandoned his academic life. In 1886 it was republished, incorporating in a second volume two books of aphorisms which Nietzsche had published in the meantime. Subtitled 'A Book for Free Spirits', Human, All Too Human marked for Nietzsche a new 'positivism' and scepticism with which he challenged his previous metaphysical and psychological assumptions. Nearly all the themes of his later work are displayed here with characteristic perceptiveness and honesty, it remains one of the works fundamental for an understanding of his thought.

This book belongs to the most rare of men. Perhaps not one of them is yet alive. It is possible that they may be among those who understand my “Zarathustra”: how could I confound myself with those who are now sprouting ears?—First the day after tomorrow must come for me. Some men are born posthumously. The conditions under which any one understands me, and necessarily understands me—I know them only too well. Even to endure my seriousness, my passion, he must carry intellectual integrity to the verge of hardness. He must be accustomed to living on mountain tops—and to looking upon the wretched gabble of politics and nationalism as beneath him. He must have become indifferent; he must never ask of the truth whether it brings profit to him or a fatality to him.... He must have an inclination, born of strength, for questions that no one has the courage for; the courage for the forbidden; predestination for the labyrinth. The experience of seven solitudes. New ears for new music. New eyes for what is most distant. A new conscience for truths that have hitherto remained unheard. And the will to economize in the grand manner—to hold together his strength, his enthusiasm.... Reverence for self; love of self; absolute freedom of self.... Very well, then! of that sort only are my readers, my true readers, my readers foreordained: of what account are the rest?—The rest are merely humanity.—One must make one’s self superior to humanity, in power, in loftiness of soul,—in contempt. Friedrich W. Nietzsche.

Product Description: A refute of dogmatic Christianity, said best in his own words: "An action demanded by the instinct of life is proven correct by the pleasure that accompanies it; yet Christian dogma considers pleasure an objection. What could destroy us more quickly than working, thinking, and feeling without any inner necessity, without any deeply personal choice, without pleasure as an automaton of duty?" Nietzsche challenges the ethical-moral value system that the West has so deeply inherited from the belief and practice of Christianity, maintaining that the Christian emphasis on sympathy and pity multiplies the experience of suffering, which has weakened, rather than strengthened its followers...read more

9781523754632, titled "Così Parlò Zarathustra" | Createspace Independent Pub, January 29, 2016, cover price $12.00 | About this edition: Scritto in circa tre anni, tra il 1883 e il 1885, Così parlò Zarathustra narra della discesa del profeta Zarathustra tra gli uomini.

At various periods of his life Nietzsche designated different written and unwritten books of his as his principal work. The composition of some of them never advanced very far, and whilst in the midst of his Transvaluation of all Values, the First Part of which is the A ntichrist, he was forever disabled by an incurable disease. If one has a right to speak of the principal work of a mental life that never reached its goal, but was suddenly crippled in mid-career, the strange fact appears, that Nietzsche smasterpiece is not one of his purely philosophical books, but a work, half philosophy, half fiction; half an ethical sermon, half a story; a book serio-jocular and scientific-fantastical; historico-satirical, and realistico-idealistic ;a novel embracing worlds and ages and, at the same time, expressing a pure essence of Nietzsche, his astounding prosepoem Thus Spake Zarathustra. Thus Spake Zarathustra is without doubt the strangest product of modern German literature; and that says a good deal. If it is to be compared with other works of World Literature, perhaps it is nearest the Three Baskets of Buddhism, the Tripitaka.(Typographical errors above are due to OCR software and don't occur in the book.)About the Publisher Forgotten Books is a publisher of historical writings, such as: Philosophy, Classics, Science, Religion, History, Folklore and Mythology.Forgotten Books' Classic Reprint Series utilizes the latest technology to regenerate facsimiles of historically important writings.
